Ethiopia peace talks : TPLF announced that it is ready to participate in the peace talks in South Africa.

  We are ready to send our negotiators to South Africa - Dr. Debretsion G/Michael  The TPLF announced this evening that it is ready to participate in the peace talks in South Africa.   TPLF also stated that we are determined to resolve the conflict peacefully.   In the letter Dr. Debretsion G/Michael wrote to the African Union; They said that "ceasing the conflict" which they say will help the peace process, is the main part of the negotiation agenda.  "Our negotiators are ready to send to South Africa," they announced. In their letter,  they asked if they would give us an explanation on some issues related to the fact that the invitation was sent to us earlier.  These are:   - Whether additional actors will be invited to the peace talks as participants, observers or guarantors; - - What kind of roles are intended to be given to the international community;  - Logistics for the negotiating team; Dr. Debretsion asked in his letter to Faki to be explained about trave

Three men were stabbed at an Ethiopian Orthodox church in Oakland, California

Three men were stabbed at an Ethiopian Orthodox church in the Oakland hills on Sunday morning, authorities said. The stabbing was reported just after 9 a.m. at the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Mekane Selam Medhane Alem Cathedral, located in the 4100 block of Mountain Boulevard near Highway 13, officials said. When police officers arrived to the church, they found three men with minor to moderate injuries, Oakland police spokesperson Candance Keas said. The three victims are residents of Oakland, San Francisco and Richmond, authorities said. Their identities were not immediately released. Witnesses at the church apparently detained the individual who stabbed the three victims, and police arrested him. He was described as a man from San Francisco, authorities said.  Ethiopian civil war : TPLF Fire or Leave ?   The TPLF rebel authorities in Tigray say they have withdrawn their troops from areas they occupied in the neighbouring Amhara region to the south to face a joint offensive by Ethiopian and Eritrean forces further north. After a five-month truce, fighting resumed at the end of August between the Ethiopian federal government - backed by forces and militias from the Amhara region - and the Tigrayan rebels.
