Blinken : US Secretary of State's visit to Ethiopia : One of his Agenda is removal of TPLF from the terrorism list.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will visit Ethiopia and Niger from March 5th to March 8th, 2015, according to a statement issued by his office.
Anthony Blinken, during his visit to Addis Ababa, it is stated that they will discuss the implementation of the peace agreement reached to end the conflict in northern Ethiopia and the issue of transitional justice.
When Blinken comes to Ethiopia, it is expected that he will meet and discuss with the leaders of the TPLF and the federal "government". One of the things that will be on the agenda is the removal of TPLF from the terrorism list. But this matter needs to be taken care of.
1) Mr. Andargachew Tsege explained in the information he shared in an organized manner that seems to have used the information of security institutions, about 7000 murderous terrorists of TPLF have been deployed in central Ethiopia. This is an indication that TPLF is going to do its terrorist activities worse than in the past. It is known that Mr. Andargachew's information is not an individual opinion.
2) TPLF is providing training on various fronts and is bringing forces to Eritrea, Amhara and Afar regions. Same with Sudan. Because of this, TPLF did not give up but to resume its activities, which were classified as terrorism.
3) TPLF did not disarm as per the peace agreement. According to the agreement, he will be removed from the terrorist list when he disarms and fulfills his other obligations. Even according to the peace agreement, the conditions for removing him from the terror register have not been fulfilled.
4) The Ethiopian Defense Army is not taking over and managing the areas occupied by the TPLF,. If TPLFhas not disarmed, including attacking the army in various areas like in the past, there is a wide possibility of terrorist preparations and activities. He is doing it.
5) TPLF is not held accountable for the crime it committed. The so-called transitional justice has not yet been implemented. He cannot be removed from the terror register without being questioned for the heinous crimes committed. This is making fun of innocent people. It will not be a good experience for the future peace of Ethiopia.
6) In spite of all this, TPLF has been removed from the terror register and committed other atrocities and crimes, it casts a dark shadow over the so-called peace agreement, peace, etc. Let there be no such thing as honesty.
7) TPLF is still a group preaching revenge. He should not be allowed to commit crimes again and destroy the race once he gets the opportunity.
8) The same is happening to the people of Tigray. The government announced in a statement that it is looting on patrol. He is using the aid for militant training. 5 billion birr sent to banks has been withdrawn and deposited in a week. He is killing his rivals. Worse issues may follow in the power struggle. Women are being raped, many crimes are being committed. If the past is not enough and his name is removed from the terror register, it will not teach him not to commit crimes. It's worse!
Many other reasons can be cited. For these more than enough reasons, TPLF does not deserve to be exempted from the crime of terrorism. It doesn't meet any criteria. Condition, obligation not fulfilled. On the contrary, he is preparing for terror. It should be noted that this group should never be removed from the terrorist list in light of its recent history and interest in challenging Ethiopia's sovereignty.
According to Laj Nebiat Aklilu, who follow the political affairs of Ethiopia and America closely, Blinken is expected to review the issue of whether the agreement reached in North Ethiopia will be implemented properly in his visit.
"I think they have gone to make sure that the peace agreement signed between the Ethiopian government and the TPLF is properly implemented on the ground and to influence the government and the political forces on the ground and to contribute to the return of peace and stability.
" The Minister of Foreign Affairs, in his earlier statement, mentioned that the security problem and political instability in other areas of Ethiopia, especially in the Oromia region, is causing danger in addition to northern Ethiopia.
Therefore, the political analyst says that they expect that in their talks with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and Foreign Minister Demeke Mekonon and other senior officials, they will discuss the country's general political instability and security problems.
"I think they will influence the government to evaluate what is happening in Ethiopia, and the situation in the security area, and to stop the mass attacks and massacres on innocent citizens, not only in Tigray, but on all Ethiopians." ,
On the occasion of Anthony Blinken's visit, it is expected that the Ethiopian government officials will raise the issue of Ethiopia being banned and countries importing their products to the United States free of taxes and tariffs, as well as the issue of additional aid and subsidies.
Ethiopia and the United States have had 120 years of diplomatic relations, and due to the events of each era, the relationship has been maintained and weakened at other times. Recently, due to the war in northern Ethiopia, this relationship has been strained. It is known that there is still a long way to go to restore the relationship and that the US is interested in renewing its relations with Ethiopia.
