 In the statement issued by the militant group on the day of the call; He mentioned that he understands that "the Oromia region should be part of the peace talks with the Oromo Liberation Army." However, he announced at the time that the peace process "must be led" by the federal government. The "Oromo Liberation Army" raised it as a reason for this; It is the federal parliament that has classified the armed group as a terrorist.

The group wants international bodies to participate in the peace talks; He announced in his statement that "only they are the ones who can guarantee the implementation of the agreements reached during reconciliation".
